SINGAPORE - China Aviation Oil (Singapore) is seeking up to 1.6 million barrels of jet fuel for December and January, about 33 percent more than it sought for November and December, traders said on Tuesday.
The company is seeking four 240,000-300,000-barrel cargoes for loading over Dec. 21-31, Jan. 1-10, Jan. 11-20 and Jan. 21-31, they said.
The cargoes are to be loaded from South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia or Thailand.
CAO is also seeking two cargoes of 25,000 tonnes each, or about 200,000 barrels each, of the product to be delivered into Huangpu, China over Dec. 27-29 and Jan. 7-9.
The tender closes on Nov. 29 and is valid until Nov. 30.
CAO is Asia's top jet fuel buyer and any spot purchases by the company usually support the Asian jet fuel market.
