BEIJING-- The following are top stories in China 's oil, gas and petrochemical sector on Friday:
1. China aims to boost its crude oil production capacity to 200 mil lion metric tons (tonnes) per year by 2015, according to the country's 12th Five-Year Plan on Energy Development.
The country also plans to increase its production capacity of natur al gas, including conventional natural gas, coalbed methane, and shale gas, to 156.5 billion cubic meters per year by 2015.
Natural gas will take up a 7.5-percent share in China's primary ene rgy consumption in 2015. The installed capacity of natural gas-fired p ower generating units will amount to 56 GW, and around 250 million peo ple will have access to natural gas by the end of 2015, according to t he plan.
The country's dependency on imported crude oil will be capped under 61 percent.
China plans to increase its proven crude oil reserves by more than 6.5 billion tonnes, its proven conventional natural gas reserves by 3. 5 trillion cubic meters, its proven coalbed methane reserves by 1 tril lion cubic meters, and its proven shale gas reserves by 600 billion cu bic meters during the 12th Five-Year Plan (2011-2015).
China's output of crude oil is expected to be around 200 million to nnes in 2015. Meanwhile, its output of conventional natural gas will e xceed 130 billion cubic meters. The marketable output of coalbed metha ne and shale gas is expected to reach 20 billion and 6.5 billion cubic meters respectively.
By 2015, the country's primary crude oil processing capacity is exp ected to reach 620 million tonnes per year. Its output of product oil is expected to reach 330 million tonnes in 2015.
China also plans to build 8,400 km of crude oil pipelines, 21,000 k m of product oil pipelines, and 44,000 km of natural gas pipelines dur ing the 12th Five-Year Plan period (2011-2015).
In the meanwhile, the country aims to expand its product oil transp ort capacity by 190 million tonnes per year and the receiving capacity of coastal LNG terminals by more than 50 million tonnes per year, acc ording to the plan.
2. China has set multiple ceilings on energy consumption and energy utilization efficiency by 2015 in its Energy Development Plan (2011-2 015) in a bid to secure energy security, protect environment and reali ze sustainable development.
China is targeted to consume less than 4 billion tonnes of coal equ ivalent and 6.15 trillion KWh of electricity in 2015, said Energy Deve lopment Plan (2011-2015), released by the central government on later Wednesday.
3.Beijing is planning harsher emission standards for motor vehicles in an effort to curb the city's air pollution.
The new Beijing V emission standard, which could be as strict as th e Euro V emission standard used in Europe, would be adopted as of Feb. 1, said Fang Li, spokesman of the Beijing Municipal Environmental Pro tection Bureau.
As of Feb. 1, the sale and registration of diesel vehicles that can not meet the new standard will be halted. Sales of substandard gasolin e cars are to be stopped as of March 1.
4. The Sichuan-to-East natural gas pipeline had transported 17.3 bi llion cubic meters of natural gas as of January 22 since it started co mmercial operation in August 2010.
The Pipeline sold 7.08 billion cubic meters of natural gas in 2012, the pipeline operator told Xinhua.
