The National Development and Reform Commission said Wednesday a rise in the price of retail gasoline by 0.15 yuan per liter and diesel by 0.17 yuan, effective Thursday.
Gasoline prices will be increased 205 yuan ($33.5) per ton and diesel 200 yuan, according to a statement posted by the commission on its official website, citing rising international oil prices.
This is the first price hike in 2014 after two rounds of cuts in January.
