China saw its output of natural gas increase 8.3% year on year to 10.3 billion cubic meters in Feb 2014, said the National Development and Reform Commission in a statement published on its website.

In Feb 2014, China's natural gas imports grew 2.8% year on year to 4.1 billion cu m, comprising 1.9 billion cu m of pipeline gas and 2.2 billion cu m of liquefied natural gas.

The consumption of natural gas amounted to 14.9 billion cu m in Feb, up 10.1% year on year.

In the first two months of this year, China's natural gas output rose 5.7% year on year to 21.8 billion cu m, while its import of natural gas amounted to 9.2 billion cu m, 8.7% more than it realized in the corresponding period of 2013.
